Each December the Tryon Fire
Department coordinates the annual Tryon Christmas Parade.
This parade is held the second Wednesday of December at 5 PM
and travels from the United Methodist Church on New Market
Road through downtown and ends at the Tryon Fire Department.
After the parade children visit with Santa and receive a gift
from him as well. What makes this parade special is that
it is funded solely through donations - no budgeted monies go
to the parade. The TFD membership does the labor at no
charge to the Town and there are no entry fees associated with
the parade. Of course we continue to rely on the
generosity of our citizens to help ensure the continued
success of the event year after year.
