Photo Unit Identification Apparatus Description
Engine 1 Engine 1 is a 1986 Pierce that until 2008 served the Department as its first out engine.  It has a 1000 GPM Waterous Pump and a 1000 gallon tank.  It now serves as the second out truck and functions as a mutual aid unit as well.  It carries EMT-B level equipment and AED.
Engine 2 Engine 2 is a 2000 Pierce on an Freightliner chasis with 4 wheel drive capability.  It has a 1500 GPM pump and 750 gallon tank capacity.  It is used not only as a brush fire unit thanks to its duel booster reels, but with its 4 wheel drive features it serves the Department in areas of rough terrain.  It also carries EMT-B level equipment.
Engine 3 Engine 3 is a 2008 Pierce Contender that replaced our 1969 Ward LaFrance engine.  It comes equipped with a 1500 GPM pump and 1000 gallon tank.  Engine 3 has a Will-Burt light tower and carries a compliment of Hurst rescue tools including spreader, cutter, and rams.  It carries EMT-B level equipment and a Zoll AED.
Tanker 1 Tanker 1 is a 1993 Pierce on a Freightliner chasis.  It has a 1000 GPM pump and 1000 gallon tank.  Many areas in Polk County are not covered well by hydrants and thus Tanker 1 responds not only in the outlying areas of Tryon's district, but mutual aid areas as well.
Service 1 Service 1 is a 2004 Chevrolet C3500 with rescue body.  It carries spare SCBAs as well as a compliment of hand tools.  It also houses the department's compliment of cribbing and carries a Hurst combi-tool on board as well for incidents when Engine 3 is assigned to another call.  It carries EMT-B level equipment and AED.
TAC 1 TAC 1 is Tryon's 2006 Ford F-350 4x4 with skid unit which serves as a brush truck and medical response unit.  It carries EMT-B level equipment and Zoll AED.
TAC 2 TAC 2 is the department's 2006 Ford Escape 4x4 which serves as the vehicle for the Fire Chief. This replaced a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer.  The Escape gets better fuel mileage and still allows areas of the district to be accessed due to rough terrain. It carries EMT-B level equipment and a Zoll AED.
